Math 130 Survey of Calculus

Course Description

This course is an introduction to analytic geometry and calculus with emphasis upon solution, techniques, and applications rather than abstract theory. It includes elements of analytic geometry, limits, the derivative, integration as a summation process, exponential and logarithmic functions, integration of basic forms, techniques of integration, and an introduction to multivariable calculus.


Math 40 or Math 41 or Algebra II with a grade of “C” or better and the assessment process.

Course Requirements

  • Textbook: Brief Applied Calculus, Seventh Edition, by Berresford and Rockett.
  • Materials Needed: Course handouts, pencil, highlighter, paper, graph paper, textbook, scientific calculator, TI-83 or TI-84 graphing calculator.
